The employer must make sure no employee is exposed in their breathing zone to airborne lead dust, mist or fumes above 0.05 mg per cubic metre, measured as an 8-hour working day and 40-hour working week time weighted average. This limit has applied since 5 June 2020, two years after the 2018 amending regulations (S.R. No. 71/2018) commenced on 5 June 2018; the earlier limit under r 186(1) was 0.15 mg per cubic metre. The duty supports section 21 of the Act.
