The employer must review, and revise if needed, its lead risk controls: before any significant change to the lead process or a related system of work; if r 199 has required an employee to be taken off lead-risk work; after any Part 5 (notifiable) incident involving lead exposure; whenever the controls otherwise fail to control the risks adequately; and when a health and safety representative asks for one. An HSR may make that request on reasonable belief that one of the first four triggers exists, or that the employer has reviewed inadequately or ignored one of those triggers. The duty supports sections 21 and 23 of the Act.
