Victoria Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 s21-2-e: s 21(2)(e) Provide necessary information, instruction, training and supervision

An employer breaches s 21(1) if it fails to give its employees the information, instruction, training or supervision they need to do their work safely and without risks to health. What is necessary depends on the task, the hazards, and the worker's experience, language and literacy; new, young and returning workers usually need closer supervision. Maximum penalty for the underlying s 21(1) offence: 1800 penalty units (individual) or 9000 penalty units (body corporate).
