US Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970
Sections 8 to 13: Inspections, records, citations, enforcement and employee rights – US Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970

US Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 9b: Post each citation at or near the place of violation

What does 9b require?

Each citation, or a copy, must be prominently posted, as the Secretary's regulations prescribe, at or near each spot where a cited violation occurred (29 CFR 1903.16: posted immediately on receipt and kept up for three working days or until the violation is abated, whichever is longer, with the notice of contest and any settlement posted likewise). Citations describe the violation with particularity, cite the provision breached and set a reasonable abatement time; none may issue more than six months after the violation.
