US Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 8c3: Keep exposure records, let employees observe monitoring and access records, and notify overexposure

What does 8c3 require?

Employers must keep accurate records of employee exposure to toxic substances or harmful physical agents where a standard requires to be monitored or measured, give employees or their representatives the opportunity to observe the monitoring and access to the records, and give each employee or former employee access to records showing their own exposure. An employer must promptly tell an employee whose exposure exceeds, or has exceeded, the level set by an applicable standard and inform that employee of the corrective action being taken (29 CFR 1910.1020 and the monitoring provisions of substance-specific standards).
