US Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 8f: Employee complaints requesting an inspection and the employer's copy

What does 8f require?

Employees or their representative who believe a standard is being breached in a way that threatens physical harm, or that imminent danger exists, may ask for an inspection by written, signed notice to the Secretary setting out the grounds; a copy goes to the employer no later than the inspection, with the complainants' names withheld on request. The Secretary conducts a special inspection where reasonable grounds exist and otherwise notifies the complainants in writing; employees may also notify the inspector in writing of suspected violations before or during an inspection and may seek informal review of a refusal to issue a citation.
