Ice used to cool the outside of food, packaged food or equipment coils is not then used as food (P). Packaged food that water could enter is not stored in direct contact with ice or water, and unpackaged food is not stored in contact with undrained ice, except whole raw produce, cut raw vegetables such as celery, carrot sticks or cut potatoes, and tofu (which may be immersed) and raw poultry and fish received on ice in shipping containers.
