Subchapter F: fire alarm rules (34.601 to 34.630) – Texas State Fire Marshal Rules (28 TAC Chapter 34, Subchapters C, E, F and G)

Texas State Fire Marshal Rules (28 TAC Chapter 34, Subchapters C, E, F and G) 34.610: Fire alarm firms: physical business location, a full-time designated licensed employee, marked vehicles, ownership and officer changes reported, branch certificates

A registered fire alarm firm keeps a specific physical business location shown on its certificate, names one full-time licensed employee as its designated employee on the registration and renewal forms (reporting any change in writing within 14 days; nobody may be designated employee for more than one firm), and marks every vehicle regularly used for installation, service, maintenance, testing or certification with the company name, telephone number and certificate number in contrasting letters at least one inch high on each side in the format TX ACR-number. A total change of ownership voids the certificate and a complete new application is due at least 14 days before the change; a partial change affecting name, location or mailing address needs a revised certificate; officer changes are reported in writing within 14 days. Branch offices hold their own certificates, which expire and renew with the main office's.
