The Commissioner adopts by reference the listed editions of the NFPA standards for fire alarm, detection and supervisory systems and related extinguishing systems (among them NFPA 72, NFPA 70, NFPA 101 and the special-hazard system standards the section enumerates), except where they conflict with the subchapter, Insurance Code chapter 6002 or other state law. Planning, installation, inspection, testing, service and monitoring must apply those editions, or an edition previously adopted by the local political subdivision where the system is installed.
