The SSA systematically evaluates the system as implemented to confirm it meets the safety objectives and requirements, numerical and non-numerical, that came from the SFHA, the PSSA and the PASA, integrating the results of the various analyses, including common cause results, and covering every safety requirement identified in the PSSA through upward verification across systems, subsystems and items. It sets the longest time a latent failure may remain undetected, for use in operation and maintenance.
