The lessor or agent ensures the agreement states at least two ways to pay rent, at least one of which is reasonably available to the tenant and costs nothing beyond the tenant's usual bank or account fees. A change of payment method without the tenant's written agreement needs a written notice offering at least two other ways, one of them fee-free, taking effect 14 days after notice. Before the agreement, a rent agreement under s 84 or a s 84A notice, the lessor or agent tells the tenant in writing of costs attached to the payment methods offered that the tenant would not reasonably know of, and declares any financial benefit it may receive if the tenant uses a particular method.
