The landlord or agent offers the tenant each prescribed way to pay rent, Centrepay and an approved electronic bank transfer to its account that costs the tenant nothing beyond the tenant's own bank charges, enables the method the tenant chooses, charges no fee and passes on no cost for a prescribed method, does not require post-dated cheques, and does not refuse a change to a prescribed method. Other methods may also be offered, but the tenant cannot be required to use a particular service (s 19(2)(f)).
