Rent, payment and records – Queensland Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008

Queensland Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008 s93: s 93 and s 93A No rent increase within 12 months of the last increase for the premises, and evidence on request

The lessor or agent does not increase, or purport to increase, the rent less than 12 months after the last increase for the premises, counting increases under earlier agreements with other tenants and by earlier owners and treating a new agreement at a higher rent as an increase (notice may be given within the 12 months if the increase takes effect after it). On a tenant's written request it gives evidence of the day of the last increase (a previous agreement, an increase notice or the rent ledger, with other people's personal information removed) within 14 days. Exempt social and community housing lessors are excluded.
