The lessor supplies and maintains the locks needed to keep the premises reasonably secure, and gives a key for every lock securing an entry to the premises, access to the building or area (for example a boom gate) or part of the premises (room doors, mailbox, shed, built-in cupboards): all such keys to a sole tenant; for co-tenants, one tenant gets every key and each other tenant gets keys to the entry and access locks.
