Principle 4: Claims Management – Principles for Doing Business at Lloyd's

Principles for Doing Business at Lloyd's P4.5: 4.5 Delegated claims handling delivered consistently and effectively

Delegated claims services are delivered consistently and effectively in line with the strategy. Delegated risk is managed through the whole contract: pre-placement considerations, due diligence, contract terms, cost model, surge and catastrophe response, service standards and reporting; performance expectations are clear and monitored with escalation; regular data feeds allow reserves and loss ratios to be monitored; funds reach customers promptly; feedback loops improve data quality. Higher levels add value and effectiveness assessments, partnership development, scalable catastrophe response, refreshed claims data shared with underwriting and actuarial, and external benchmarking of cost and performance.
