Principles for Doing Business at Lloyd's P4.4: 4.4 Accurate and timely case reserving in line with the reserving philosophy

Case reserves are accurate and timely in line with the reserving philosophy, and insights including development potential are exchanged across the business. Baseline: accuracy and timeliness maintained; reserves recommended by third parties aligned with the managing agent's expectations, supported by case reserve expectations with agreed tolerances and shared case reserving insights; reserve responsibilities discharged under LCLA. Higher levels add targeted insights from trends and themes, benchmarking, assurance programme findings, exchange with actuaries and underwriting, and predictive analytics to optimise reserving and business mix.
