Prince Edward Island Occupational Health and Safety Act General Regulations P14: Bins, hoppers, chambers and vessels: harness and lifeline when entering where entrapment is possible, walkways and platforms with handrails, exits and safety devices, and a stationed sentinel

What does P14 require?

Workers who go into a bin, hopper, chamber or similar vessel in which they could be trapped or buried by moving material, or face other listed dangers, are provided with and wear an approved safety harness with a properly anchored lifeline. The employer installs suitable walkways or work platforms fitted with standard handrails wherever possible, provides adequate exits and the safety devices that best fit the hazard, and where there is danger from contaminated air, lack of oxygen or burial, stations another worker in a position to watch and assist as section 14.4 requires.
