NSW Home Building Act 1989 s105A: s 105A Only licensed insurers and providers issue home building cover

A person must not enter a contract of insurance under Part 6 unless it is a licensed insurer, or a contract or arrangement for an alternative indemnity product unless it is a licensed provider (the Self Insurance Corporation is taken to be licensed). The building cover contract stays valid despite a contravention. Maximum penalty 1,000 penalty units.
