NFPA 70 National Electrical Code 2023 Article 701 Legally Required Standby Systems 701.12: 701.12 General requirements for sources of power

After a normal supply failure, standby power has to come on within the time the application calls for and in no case later than 60 seconds, from one or more recognised sources; selection considers whether service will be short or long, and equipment is designed and placed to limit total failure from flood, fire, ice and vandalism.

What else in your programme already covers this

This control maps to 2 controls across 2 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.

  • 4.1 4.1 EPSS supply by class and type
  • 700.12 700.12 General requirements for sources of power

Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
