NFPA 70 National Electrical Code 2023 Article 701 Legally Required Standby Systems 701.12(H): 701.12(H) Microgrid systems

Sources designated for legally required standby may connect to a microgrid if the standby system is isolated from all other loads when normal supply is lost, or load management meets 701.4(C); loss of the normal sources must not cut what the designated standby sources can deliver; and designated stored-energy standby sources may remain tied to other production sources whose failure would not affect operation.
