NASRHP Self-Regulating Health Profession Certifying Entity Membership Standards (Australia) S10: Standard 10: Require recency of practice: 150 hours a year or 450 hours over three years, declared and audited

A recency of practice policy must define practice (using professional skills and knowledge in work that contributes to safe and effective service, clinical or not, paid or formal volunteer) and require at least 150 hours of practice a year in scope or 450 hours over the previous three years; maintaining certification or CPD is not practice. The maximum time out of certification is three years (the entity may set shorter), after which resumption of practice assessment is needed. A mandatory declaration is required, certification only happens once all requirements are met including for overseas qualified practitioners, practitioners must be able to evidence practice with an employment contract, statement of service or employer contact, newly certified practitioners' CPD logs are in the CPD audit, and a random annual audit, within the 5 per cent minimum, must catch practitioners who cannot show the hours.
