Metering and Consumption Rules v2.6 – NABERS - National Australian Built Environment Rating System

NABERS - National Australian Built Environment Rating System MC-5.3: Secure 12 months of acceptable utility data aligned to the rating period

What does MC-5.3 require?

5.2 and 5.3: units and formats are checked and converted (billed quantities prevail over headline figures, overlapping bill dates are corrected, gas bills without units confirmed with the utility, LPG entered in litres at 25.7 MJ per litre, metered energy used without network loss factors). Each utility meter must provide acceptable data for one complete, continuous year; estimated bills are not acceptable data and must be corrected; new meters start from zero unless read at installation; anomalies (rollovers, meter changes, faults, remote reading faults, irregular or disproportionate values) are investigated and documented, and unexplained anomalies go to the National Administrator. Each bill is a separate line item and billing periods align to the first or last bill. The rating period aligns exactly with the primary utility account; other accounts may be displaced by no more than 60 days; combined energy and water ratings and co-assess applications share one rating period (for offices the base building period, else the whole building period, else the largest tenancy's).
