4.2: the assessor identifies all energy sources (electricity including renewable, gas, diesel, geothermal, thermal chilled, heating or condenser water) and water sources (ground, fire services, bore, surface, externally supplied recycled water), shared facilities such as car parks and end-of-trip facilities for offices (and communal kitchens, laundries, pools and gyms for aged care), and exported energy or water. Notes and photos are kept, and the assessor asks managers for all sources and accounts (including batch supplies, on-site generation, purchased renewables and recycled water), reviews service drawings, walks plant rooms and switchboards, looks for unmetered sources and shared services, and records meter details. Unmetered sources are usable only with 12 months of acceptable data, except reused fire water, returned heat exchange water, basement seepage, collected rainwater and condensate. Permitted supply points are utility meters (preferred), non-utility meters meeting Chapters 4 and 6, supplier-stated batch bills and thermal meters.
