Space stations on geostationary satellites using FSS or BSS bands must be capable of, and must maintain, positions within plus or minus 0.1 degree of longitude of the nominal position (experimental stations 0.5 degree) (22.6 to 22.9); those using no FSS or BSS band keep within 0.5 degree (22.11 to 22.13); older stations put into service before 1 January 1987 keep within 1 degree (22.15 to 22.18); a station need not meet the maintenance tolerance while its network causes no unacceptable interference to networks that do comply (22.10, 22.14); positional tolerance for inclined geosynchronous orbits relates to the nodal point (A.22.III.1).
