ISO/IEC 38500:2024 5.2.1: Purpose: principle

Stated as the ISO 37000 principle and applied to the organization's IT, data and digital capabilities: the governing body should make sure that the organization has a clearly defined purpose, its reason for existing, which states what the organization intends towards the natural environment, society and its stakeholders, and has a defined set of values to go with it.
