Clause 7.4 to 7.7: Evaluation, reporting, process control, complaints and appeals – ISO/IEC 17043:2023

ISO/IEC 17043:2023 7.5.4: Manage nonconforming work with defined authorities, risk-based actions and recall

What does 7.5.4 require?

A procedure applies whenever any aspect of a scheme fails to conform to the provider's procedures or the agreed requirements of participants or customers. It defines the responsibilities and authorities for managing nonconforming work; defines actions, based on the provider's risk levels, including halting ongoing schemes or rounds and withholding reports as necessary; evaluates the significance of the nonconformity including its impact on earlier PT activities; decides at once whether action is needed and on what timescale and on the acceptability of the work; informs participants and customers as appropriate and recalls or disregards nonconforming items or reports already sent; and defines who authorises resumption. Records of the nonconformity and the actions are retained, and where the evaluation shows the work can recur or raises doubt about compliance with the provider's procedures the corrective action procedure of 8.7 is followed promptly.
