ISO/IEC 17043:2023 7.4.2: Evaluate performance with valid documented methods and expert commentary

What does 7.4.2 require?

Performance is evaluated with valid methods that meet the scheme's objectives, documented together with the basis for evaluation (ISO 13528 gives examples). Where applicable to the objectives the provider gives expert commentary on overall performance against prior expectations allowing for measurement uncertainty; variation inside and across participants and comparison with earlier rounds, similar schemes or published data; variation between methods; likely sources of error, referring to outliers or poor performance, with suggestions for improving; advice and feedback supporting participants' continual improvement; situations where unusual factors prevent evaluation or commentary; other suggestions and general comments; and conclusions. Periodic summary sheets tracking individual performance across rounds can be provided.
