Context of the organization – ISO 55001:2014

ISO 55001:2014 4.1: Understanding the organization and its context

The organization identifies the internal and external issues that bear on its purpose and on whether its asset management system can deliver the outcomes it is meant to deliver. Because the asset management objectives, and so the strategic asset management plan, have to be consistent with and aligned to the organizational objectives, the context analysis must link the asset portfolio to what the organization as a whole is trying to achieve.
