The governing body should deal fairly with all stakeholders, make sure the organization does too, and take account of what relevant stakeholders expect. It should make sure the organizational purpose (6.1) and the value the organization means to create (6.2) are settled through engagement with relevant stakeholders, whether member, reference or other. Society at large and the natural environment, though not counted as stakeholders, should feature in its decisions, since the organization's activities affect them or will do.
