ISO 19650 - Organisation and Digitisation of Information about Buildings and Civil Engineering Works (BIM) 2:5.1.7: 5.1.7 Establish the project's common data environment

The project CDE shall be set up, configured and supported by the appointing party. It shall allow: a unique ID for each information container built from an agreed, documented convention of delimited fields, each field taking a value from an agreed codification standard; the attributes status (suitability), revision and classification (to ISO 12006-2); movement between states; logging of who made each state change and when; and access control at container level. The CDE should be operating before the invitation to tender goes out and may be hosted by a separately appointed third party; a functional and non-functional specification is recommended.
