Clause 5: Management responsibility in projects – ISO 10006:2017

ISO 10006:2017 5.2.8: Relationship management

What does 5.2.8 require?

An organization and its stakeholders rely on each other, and a relationship that benefits both improves their ability to create value (ISO 9000:2015 clause 2.3.7). Providers should be involved by the project organization when working out strategies for obtaining outside products or services, above all those with long lead times, and may consider sharing risk with them. Requirements for providers' processes and specifications for their products or services should be drawn up together with the providers so that their knowledge is used. The project organization should also establish whether a provider can meet its process, product or service requirements, taking account of any list of preferred providers or selection criteria the customer has. Whether several projects could use one common provider should be looked into.
