Part 2: recommendations across six pillars – India AI Governance Guidelines (2025)

India AI Governance Guidelines (2025) 2.2: Capacity Building: awareness campaigns, training for officials, regulators and law enforcement, and reach into smaller cities

What does 2.2 require?

Societal trust and public awareness of AI's risks and capabilities grow through regular training and publicity; government officials, regulators and civil servants are trained to understand AI developments, manage procurement and use AI responsibly; law enforcement, police, cybercrime units and prosecutors build the capacity to spot, investigate and resolve crimes enabled by AI; and capacity building reaches smaller tier-2 and tier-3 cities as well as vocational institutes.
