IEC 61508:2010 - Functional Safety of E/E/PE Safety-related Systems
Part 2, Clause 7: E/E/PE lifecycle (hardware) – IEC 61508:2010 - Functional Safety of E/E/PE Safety-related Systems

IEC 61508:2010 - Functional Safety of E/E/PE Safety-related Systems 2-7.4.7: Part 2, 7.4.7 Requirements for the control of systematic faults

The design must tolerate residual hardware design faults unless they can be excluded (Table A.15); environmental stresses including electromagnetic disturbance (Table A.16); EUC operator mistakes (Table A.17); residual software design faults (Part 3, 7.4.3); and errors from data communication (7.4.11). Maintainability and testability are considered during design, and the design accounts for human capabilities and limits, suits the tasks given to operators and maintainers, follows good human-factors practice and matches their likely training, for example where operators are ordinary members of the public.

What else in your programme already covers this

This control maps to 1 controls across 1 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.

Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
