ESRS (revised 2026) S1-13: Health and safety metrics

What does S1-13 require?

The undertaking discloses the percentage of its own workforce (headcount basis) covered by an occupational health and safety management system based on legal requirements or recognised standards; subject to legal restrictions, how many people died from recordable work-related accidents, counting its own workforce and other workers on its sites, together with employee deaths from work-related ill health; the number and rate of recordable work-related accidents in its own workforce (cases per million hours worked, national definitions allowed with disclosure, estimates on standard hours explained); the number of recordable work-related ill health cases among employees (including musculoskeletal disorders, from reports by affected people, agencies or health professionals or medical surveillance); and the days lost to accidents and ill health among employees in calendar days from first to last day of absence. Where S1-6 is material the fatality and accident figures include non-employees, broken down where applicable.
