Healthcare facilities and reverse distributors sending potentially creditable hazardous waste pharmaceuticals to a reverse distributor must comply with all applicable DOT regulations (49 CFR parts 171 to 180) for any that are hazardous materials; the receiving reverse distributor must confirm receipt (paper or electronic) to the sender; if no confirmation arrives within 35 calendar days of shipment, the sender must promptly contact the carrier and the reverse distributor to report it and find the shipment's status. Exports follow Part 262 Subpart H except the manifest requirement of 262.83(c); imports follow the shipping, confirmation and follow-up rules instead of Subpart H and become subject to Subpart P on entry.
