Persons who generate, collect, transport, store or regenerate spent lead-acid batteries for reclamation are exempt from most hazardous waste requirements, following the table in 266.80(a), or may manage them as universal waste under Part 273 instead. Those who store batteries before reclaiming them other than by regeneration must comply, at interim status facilities, with RCRA 3010 notification, Part 265 Subparts A, B (except 265.13), C, D, E (except 265.71 and 265.72) and F to L, Parts 270, 124 and 267; and at permitted facilities with the corresponding Part 264 provisions (except 264.13, 264.71 and 264.72), Parts 270, 124 and 267.
