EPA RCRA Hazardous Waste Management 266.503: § 266.503 Standards for healthcare facilities managing potentially creditable hazardous waste pharmaceuticals

A healthcare facility must determine whether each potentially creditable pharmaceutical is hazardous (or may manage all as hazardous); may accept potentially creditable hazardous waste pharmaceuticals from an off-site VSQG healthcare facility under the same control or with a documented supply relationship, if operating under Subpart P and keeping receipt records three years; must not send any hazardous waste other than potentially creditable hazardous waste pharmaceuticals to a reverse distributor; is not subject to Biennial Reporting for them; must keep for each shipment to a reverse distributor, for three years from shipment, the confirmation of delivery and any DOT shipping papers (extended during enforcement and readily available); and must immediately contain spills and manage clean-up materials as non-creditable hazardous waste pharmaceuticals.
