BSI PAS 1880:2020 7.12: 7.12 Detecting sensor failure

Because safe running depends on spotting sensor failure fast, where the team cannot be sure a failure will be caught before bad data reach the AVPO it ought to consider duplicated and redundant sensing to make timely detection more likely, choosing between same-type and mixed-type redundancy on evidence.

What else in your programme already covers this

This control maps to 2 controls across 1 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.

  • 11:5.5 5.5 Sensors and transducers
  • 4:6.4.5 6.4.5 Measures for control of random hardware failures during operation

Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
