ISO 26262:2018 - Functional Safety for Road Vehicles 4:6.4.5: 6.4.5 Measures for control of random hardware failures during operation

The system design specifies the measures for detecting, controlling and mitigating random hardware failures during operation, to be evaluated at hardware level against the architectural metrics and the random hardware failure targets of part 5 clauses 8 and 9. This sits in clause 6, whose stated aims, per the SGS quotation, are technical safety requirements for the functions, dependencies, constraints and properties of system elements and interfaces and for their safety mechanisms, requirements for safety in production, operation, service and decommissioning, a system architectural design and technical safety concept that meet the safety requirements without conflicting with other requirements, an architecture analysis that prevents faults and yields the safety-related special characteristics, and verification of it all against the ASIL. Requirement text not held.
