BREEAM - Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method Ene 07: Ene 07 Energy efficient laboratory systems

For laboratory buildings: a prerequisite that Hea 03 is achieved; one credit where client consultation during the brief defines laboratory performance criteria (purpose, activities, containment, air changes, ventilation performance, heating and cooling with heat recovery, system interaction, flexibility) and the design team shows the energy demand has been minimised and the services right-sized; and up to four credits for best-practice energy efficient measures in containment devices and areas, ventilation and cooling, such as variable air volume fume cupboards, reduced face velocities, heat recovery and free cooling.
