BREEAM - Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method Ene 02a: Ene 02a Energy monitoring (non-residential and residential institutions)

To install energy sub-metering that enables consumption to be managed: one credit where metering assigns at least 90 percent of the estimated annual consumption of each fuel to end-use categories, through an energy monitoring and management system in buildings over 1,000 square metres or accessible sub-meters with pulsed or open-protocol outputs in smaller ones, with end uses identifiable to users (the minimum standard from Very Good); and one credit for sub-metering of high energy load areas and separate tenancies, which does not apply to long-stay residential institutions, preschools or primary schools.
