BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 9 3.5.2.1: A raw material acceptance procedure based on the risk assessment with defined parameters and frequencies

What does 3.5.2.1 require?

The company must have a procedure, based on its risk assessment, for accepting raw materials and primary packaging when they arrive, using sampling and testing, visual inspection, or certificates of analysis or of conformance specific to the consignment. It keeps a list of materials with their acceptance requirements, and acceptance parameters and testing frequencies are clearly defined, put into practice and reviewed.
