Australian Consumer Law (Competition and Consumer Act 2010 Schedule 2) s61: s 61 Supply services, and resulting products, fit for the purpose or result made known

Where a consumer makes known to the supplier a particular purpose for which services are acquired, the supplier guarantees that the services and any resulting product will be reasonably fit for that purpose; where the consumer makes known the result it wants the services to achieve (to the supplier or a person who conducted negotiations), the services and resulting product must be of a nature, quality, state or condition that might reasonably be expected to achieve that result. The guarantees do not apply if the consumer did not rely, or it was unreasonable to rely, on the supplier's skill or judgment, or to professional services of a qualified architect or engineer.
