Australian Consumer Law (Competition and Consumer Act 2010 Schedule 2) s56-57: ss 56 and 57 Supply goods that match their description and any sample or demonstration model

A supplier of goods by description to a consumer (other than by auction) guarantees they correspond with the description, including where the consumer selects goods on display (s 56). Where goods are supplied by reference to a sample or demonstration model, the supplier guarantees they correspond with it in quality, state and condition, that the consumer will have a reasonable opportunity to compare them with any sample, and that they are free from defects not apparent on reasonable examination of the sample or model that would make them not of acceptable quality (s 57). Both guarantees can apply together.
