Australian Consumer Law (Competition and Consumer Act 2010 Schedule 2) s58: s 58 Manufacturer to take reasonable action to make repairs and spare parts reasonably available

For goods supplied to a consumer (other than by auction) there is a guarantee that the manufacturer will take reasonable action to ensure repair facilities and parts are reasonably available for a reasonable period after supply, unless the manufacturer took reasonable action to ensure the consumer was told in writing, at or before agreeing to the supply, that repair facilities or parts would not be available or would not be available after a specified period. Affected persons can recover damages from the manufacturer for a failure (s 271(5)).
