Travel is claimable only where the item allows it, the primary support is face-to-face, the charge complies with the arrangements, the value has been explained and the participant agreed the travel costs in advance, and the provider must pay the worker for the travel time (or is a sole trader travelling from their usual workplace or between participants). In 2025-26 the travel time cap was up to 30 minutes each way in MMM 1 to 3 and up to 60 minutes in MMM 4 to 5 (no cap in remote and very remote areas), therapy travel time was limited to a set proportion of the therapy limit, time and kilometres on a multi-participant trip are apportioned as agreed, and non-labour costs (vehicle running costs up to a per-kilometre amount, tolls, parking, fares) are claimed on the separate provider travel non-labour item. Travel cannot be claimed where the item already includes it.
