Before the preliminary assessment, the licensee must make reasonable inquiries about the consumer's requirements and objectives and financial situation, take reasonable steps to verify the financial situation, and make any inquiries and verification the regulations prescribe. For a small amount credit contract where the consumer has an ADI account into which income is paid, it must obtain and consider at least 90 days of account statements.
