Part 4.3: Confined spaces – Australia Model Work Health and Safety Regulations

Australia Model Work Health and Safety Regulations r65-66: rr 65 and 66 No entry before compliance; competent person's written risk assessment

The PCBU ensures, so far as reasonably practicable, that no worker enters a confined space before Division 3 is complied with, manages the risks of entering, working in, on or near the space (including inadvertent entry) under Part 3.1, and has a competent person carry out and record in writing a risk assessment considering whether the work can be done without entry, the nature of the space, possible changes in oxygen or contaminant levels, the work and methods, and the emergency and rescue procedures needed; the assessment is reviewed and revised by a competent person whenever controls are reviewed.
