Australia Model Code of Practice: Managing the Work Environment and Facilities 3.2: 3.2 Provide free clean drinking water at all times, safely supplied

Clean drinking water must be provided free of charge at all times, positioned for easy access, close to hot or strenuous work, and separate from toilet or washing facilities. The code recommends a temperature at or below 24 degrees Celsius, achieved by refrigeration, clean ice, or shading pipes and containers, and hygienic supply so workers do not drink from shared containers, such as upward-jet fountains or disposable or washable cups. Water for industrial processes or fire protection must be signed as unfit to drink. Where a mains connection is not possible, public drinking facilities, bottled water or containers should be provided.
