A person with management or control of plant must, so far as reasonably practicable, prevent alterations to or interference with the plant they have not authorised; take all reasonable steps to ensure plant is used only for its designed purpose unless a competent person assesses that the proposed use does not increase risk; and take all reasonable steps to ensure safety features, warning devices, guarding, operational controls and emergency stops are used according to the instructions and information provided. Workers who operate plant should be competent or suitably supervised in training. Retain operating manuals and manufacturer material. Also address risks from operator fitness for work such as fatigue, routine or repetitive tasks, distractions and whether the plant suits the tasks.
